Badgerie Menagerie: Our 5th Annual Spring Egg Hunt!!!

Our 5th Annual Spring Egg Hunt Party was a success!
So much fun and a lovely time spent with friends.
<3

There was spring baskets by Miss 2.

There was rainbow jello!

Caramel Popcorn by Miss 1 & Cupcakes by Miss 3.

The most fun for the adults:
the hiding of the eggs.

I think they get more creative each year.

And let's not forget the food.
Miss 1 contributed the Deviled Eggs as well.
Yum!

While the adults finish up the last of the hiding.

There was the waiting.

Time for the youngest ones to get first crack at the hunt!

:)

Now the hunt begins in earnest, with the olders jumping into the fray.

Found one.

The next fun part for the adults: spectating!

Some very cool 3-D printed eggs.

Did I mention the rainbow jello???
Yum.

There was more 3-D printing discussion.

After the main hunt was over...
An intrepid reconnaissance group went on an additional egg scouting mission.
To find those last remaining eggs...
I don't think any where recovered.
As Erik says, there will be ones that will be found by the lawnmower, come spring.
There always are a few...
;)

Dance performance time!
The teens of Miss 3's dance troupe.

Practicing their ribbon dance on stage.

Meanwhile in the backrooms, Miss 3's troupe practices.

Culture Night up at Weber State U.

Their turn up, marking their dance on stage.
Practice time was short.

Back stage rooms.

Since the practice time for Miss 3's troupe on the stage was abbreviated, and there was so much room back stage, I decided to reconstruct the size and shape of the actual stage.
I hunted down some tape, marked the corners and middle with tape.
That way they can get a good feel for the size of the stage.

Here they are practicing on their backstage "stage".

Meanwhile, the olders are tending to their makeup.

One last chance to mark out the dance before actual performance.

My attempt at stage makeup with Miss 3.
Not bad.
I think that I can go older with the colors, next time.

Down-time, as they wait backstage.

Waiting their turn, watching the first act.

Hanging out with the olders.

*****

Reviewing how to chain my front tires, shoveling more snowed-in sidewalks, sprouting wheatgrass, painting wooden dolls peg dolls, more knitting in the waiting room, rolling snow balls, more speech making, baking!

More snow.
I put this chain on myself.
Hooray.

Yum, chocolate Frappacino.

More shovelling.

Meanwhile the squash plants that my littles decided to start in the middle of December continue to grow.

***

Pysanky week.
Now that the wooden dolls are finished, we move on to Pysanky.

Wax, dip.
Wax, dip.

Time to plant the sprouted wheat.

Experiment:

Junior Achievement Biz Town Fieldtrip for Miss 3!
Checking into JA Biztown as a volunteer.

the view from town square.

Miss 3 was going to "work" at a local petroleum company.
I'm one of the volunteer parent fasciliators.

Town center, with all the participating homeschoolers.
So much excitement!

The inside of the power company: Rocky Mountain Power.

The whole Marathon crew.

Miss 3 hard at work.

A worker visiting from Rocky Mountain Power, making the rounds, changing the air filters.

The view outside of Marathon Energy.

Miss 3 cashing her first paycheck at the local bank.

Lunch break.

There's even a Smiths Marketplace!

You only have two breaks to handle all of your paycheck depositing, errands, purchasing, and philanthropy.

The local medical supply company supplies Smarties.

The company CEO giving the final company meeting.

Leaving Biz Town, crossing the bridge to metaphorically return from "adulthood" back to "childhood".

*****

\After JA Biz Town, we had an hour of down time before we jetted over to Classic Fun Center for a Celebration of completing our 8-week Toastmasters Youth Leadership Workshop.

Congratulations to all of our students!
Great job!
