Badgers in Porto, Portugal part 3 of 5

Portugal, week two.
Much smoke in the air.
Local grocery store chocolate - the best.
Baccalau - I love.
Happy Badgerie Menagerie Mid-Autumn Festival!

Monday.  The smoke is worse.

With the smoke so thick.
We decided to spend the day inside.

View of the river (hidden) and city.

Homework day.

Candy is kid currency.

It was all over the Portuguese news.
The severity of the fires made it such that it was the only news that was to be had.
The fires were the singular pre-occupation of the national news.

The best find in the grocery store: local brands of European chocolate.
Miss 2 helped us find the best one: Crusti-Choc - we love it.
Yum.
We miss it!

The color of the sky...

It cleared up a little bit in the evening.
And we went out to order some pizza.

Tuesday.

Despite the smoke and haze.
We decided to wander.
But with masks this time.

A local playground.

The actual color of the sky.
Smoky yellow.

In the evening...
Mid-Autumn Festival.
Round dishes to celebrate unity and wholeness.
Mid-autumn festival is about family, giving thanks, the moon, and the legend of Chang-E and the jade rabbit.
See my Emmental Cheese rabbit on the Baccalau and battata casserole.

Yum.

Jade buns.

Reading homework with big sis.

***

Time for painting lanterns!

Now to run about!

Happiest of Mid-Autumn Festivals.
The Badgerie Menagerie way.
