Badgers in Porto, Portugal part 2 of 5

 More of Porto.
Beach treasures, many more steps,
lovely new friends, and tasty pastries

***

Friday.
Good morning Porto!

Beachcombing was fun.

New plush art.

We are off on a new quest: to find a local Bubble Tea recommend!

We found a little piece of Utah.
Weird.

Made our way over towards to the River Douro, but this time to the upper bridge crossing.

In the background a fortress on one side of the bridge.

Pedestrian crossing over the bridge, alongside the local trolley/train.

The view to the right.

On the other side, the Northside of the river.

Fire hydrant.

All of the college students wear black robes here.
I think it was one of the inspirations for JK Rowling, who spent some time in PT.

Found it!

1-2-Tea Bubble Tea!
Made our orders.

Admired the decor.

While waiting for our tea...

Wee Bear Bears!
Loving the decor.

The upstairs seating.

Mission accomplished!
Fun artsy atmosphere.
Great drinks!
Thanks to Jen, our local connection, for the tip!

Another place to hide one of minha bonequinha viajante - my little traveling dolls.

Goodbye dollie, I hope that you make a friend who's nice.

Sunset on Friday.
The fires in Portugal have be increasing in intensity.
The ones in burning to the east and to the south of the city were starting to make an impact on the evening sunset, with their smoke.

Practising her speech for Toastmasters.

11pm, Friday local time.
Logging to attend Toastmasters class remotely and give her speech.

*****

Saturday.
Good morning.'
One truely lovely element of our hotel, was their breakfasts were great.
The staff is lovely.

Down time.
Spending the day catching up on homework.
World schooling.
;)

Afternoon, time to stretch our legs.

Decided to take the girls on their first trip to a Portugal super market, Lidl was very conveniently nearby.

***

More down time...
Sister time.

Dinner time.

*****

Sunday, morning.

The smoke had cleared up some.
First waking up...

And breakfast.

***

A new destination: meeting up some local homeschoolers!
Destination... A coffee shop!!!

Crossing to the North side of the river.
Going downtown.

Looking over the right side of the bridge.

Narrow cobbled streets.
Occasionaly we had to make way for motorized traffic

Azulejos tiling.

Feeding local pigeons.

We found the coffee shop.
And the irony of the decor - with the Delicate Arch!
Another little bit of Utah.

Met up with our friends!

I think that it was a hit.

After coffee, went to go check out the local shops together.

Mom-piccie!

Jen took us to the a local pastelleria, with the be Pastel de Nata in town.

Yum!

Then onto more drinks!
1-2-Tea!

Back here for more yums.

So much fun.
I'm so glad that the kids clicked!
Thanks again to Jen for reaching out to me on the forum!

Back in our neighborhood.
Groceries

Sent another little doll on her way to make a Porto-friend.

I bought a pot!
Now I can actually use the kitchen.
