By far our favorite holiday (at least for some of the family) is Halloween.
So glad that we made the most of it this year. It was hectic and fun doing projects and baking in anticipation. This year, as had started with the pandemic, we decided to repeat our Haunted Hallway, a custom indoor trick-or-treat where we decorate an individualized room according to a theme, and dress accordingly. The treats are stupendous!
On Halloween night, we had our beastly feast! Then it was time to trick-or-treat - for the first time since the pandemic!
And it was good to get out again.
Miss working on her dino feet and leggings.
Dino teeth.
Claws
Cutting foam rubber.
Gluing the first layer of fabric onto the foam rubber.
First try of the tail.
Making progress...
The eyes and face mock-up.
Her first attempt at home-made candycorn.
It ended up being more like candypopcorn.
It was all for me!!!
Still it was sooo good, that I had to hide the candy from myself.
Candycorn is soooo good.
Candycorn is soooo evil.
Badger Home Evening, pumpkin carving.
She put a lot of work into this!
This year's jack o' line-up.
The face, in fabric.
I felt like the abdomen needed a lot of expansion, so I added some touches to it.
Another of my made-for-me salads by Miss 2...
complete with radish and cucumber elephants and fish!
EVA foam bits as part of her glove armor.
Merengue ghosts!
Making jello earth worms!
Out they come!
A hot cold-weather date, with a hottie.
Merengue pumpkins!
Rice krispies fish.
She made this for my themed room for our third annual haunted hallway!
Boba-tea break.
'Twas the night before Halloween..
And a cookie and Utah Raptor were stirring...
And the Badgerie Menagerie Hallways were haunted!
A praying mantis!
A witch-king.
Now for the knocking...
The little Utah raptor goes first..
knocking on each person's door
My room...
I'm the lady of the lake.
Complete with my own frog entourage.
This frog gets along with this mantis!
The witch-king in all their glory.
The Mantis' lair of bugs.
The Utah raptor's dinosaur kingdom
Hallllp!
Welcome to the cave of the witch-king.
Come to Mordor.
...For employment, empowerment.
...And perhaps a magic ring.
No (apparent) strings attached!
All the praying mantis' treats came as wrapped bugs...
Like this lady bug!
Playing with press-on nails.

Halloween Day Shenaninigans!
When it all comes together...
Slicing peppers for the pumpkin casserole stuffing.
Cheese stuffed potato medallions!
Yum
Slicing pimento stuffed olives for eyeballs in the pumpkin casserole!
Filling the pumpkin.
Before the bake, our pumpkin casserole.
Cheesy, GF witch's fingers!
Jello worms in oreo-cookie dirt!
The line up!
Ahem!
I said line up!
Oh...
Nevermind!
Trick-or-treat time!
We quickly split up, as according the the oldest's plan.
But at least I have a few photos of them trick-or-treating together...
It's just me and the little dino now.
Love these precious moments!
Going to miss doing this some day.
She's so brave and bold!
And so raptor-y!
Shadow play!
The best of times!
Sisters waited until we walked home, before requesting a ride home, from where they wandered.
(Must have more candy that Miss 3 and Mama, on principle, of course!)
After, the baked pumpkin casserole.
I think that it's an improvement, actually.
;)
