Last part of September was a blur of martial arts, cross-country races, volunteering, road-schooling, blading and art!
Meeting here outside of Cat Steven's studio...
For...
A poster party!
Helping make signs for the Salt Lake "Slutwalk" Walk of No Shame.
***
Another road-schooling day.
Miss 1 at Moot Court, Miss 2 in Robotics, and Miss 3 with me, doing math in a backyard.
***
Miss 3's Girl Scout Troop Meeting.
For about 9 years, we've done Girl Scouts on and off.
We've been in about 5 or so troops that have either dissolved or just not worked out.
And this is the very first bridging ceremony that I've witnessed.
Miss 3 was not being bridged this time.
On to the project: cleaning up the park.
Very interesting social experiment...
What happens when you divide the group into teams...
...and make clean-up a competition for prizes?
What happens then?
***
Cross-country training...
***
In my "jungle room"...
The sisters like to release their pet mantids for a day-long wander...
When it is time for pick-up, they can be difficult to spot...
Sometimes!
***
More cross-country practice...
Under the arch of a rainbow!
Ran across this at our local cross-country park:
A film crew.
By the look of the fake-blown-snow, I guessed that they were filming a made-for-TV Hallmark show.
The directors chair titles confirmed my suspicions.
A Hallmark film.
After martial arts, but before cross-country: dinner
***
More road schooling.
Big sister is doing debate class.
***
Back in my "jungle".
Found the mantis at large...
***
A dinosaur birthday.
***
Finally got the olders outfitted with rollerblades.
We had waited through the pandemic, until we felt comfortable with being outdoors, in the crowded environs of the park.
At long last!
Blading again.
It has been too many years in the waiting.
***
A trip to the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art - UMOCA.
To go find Miss 3's summer Art camp exhibit.
Found her work on the wall!
***
On to volunteering time.
Miss 2 went to volunteer at a STEM table at FANX.
This is the only picture that I took.
Trying on her new suit.
***
I love my coffee.
Going to an international teen summit.
