What a full and lovely June it has been!
It's been full of cakes, sewing, painting, friends, coffee & more coffee!
My little ambassadors, I will be taking these little wooden dolls on a trip with Miss 1 to Europe.
I used different materials this time...
Markers!
*****
Gearing up for a birthday!
Battenberg cake.
Wrapped in homemade fondant and store bought marzipan.
Airbrush!
Finished.
3 bunnies, 5 mushrooms, 3 frogs, 1 mini-cake, 1 triceratops, 1 Zinnia flower, 11 stars, 5 butterflies!
*****
Goofing around town.
*****
Birthday day!
Sister made me crepes!
I got a snail in my coffee.
And was quite happy.
They made a pinata for Miss!
***
Pool time!
Birthday cake.
Loved.
*****
Vroom!
Vroom!
A break for our annual Pacific Northwest roadtrip!
*****
Back in town.
Time around time.
Miss was back in town in time to start summer theatre camp!
Meanwhile...
Magic Moda time.
Coffee with Miss.
Catching up with a friend.
Coffee!!!
Cool Harvey Milk Mural
***
Back at home...
For her bday, she got a small hand-crank ice cream machine.
It was a hit!
Match green-tea ice cream!
Yum.
***
For her bday, she got a little fountain.
Dada helps her set it up, in the backyard!
She made a hat!
All on her own.
Sis really liked it.
So Miss sewed her a smaller stuffy version.
***
More ice cream making!
Being Dada is fun!
But exhausting.
*****
Around town!
One of my favorite haunts...
Because they have GF food!
***
These three made a big splash.
It was their first time at the Leonardo's teen-entrepreneurial competition: the Mind Riot!
They placed 3rd place, out of 8, not bad for a very first time.
***
Ringing in the summer with our first hawaiian shaved ice of the season.
Yum.
*****
She sewed some more things!
And then she eats them???
*****
Found a cool recipe online for a sakura cake!
First I made some homemade sakura flavored sprinkles (the long rods are to be broken up into jimmies).
The cake has a surprise inside.
(See below.)
Making sakura ice cream!!!
***
Birthday Miss!
It's off to bubble tea we go!
Bubble tea + birthday = yum!
Plus some time in the pool.
***
Surprise!
The sakura branches inside the sakura cake!
***
A day at the art fair!
We were delayed a day, but we finally made it!
Ran into a good friend at the art fair.
Fun times.
:)
*****
Back at home.
Miss just made use of her new cotton candy machine!
*****
Out and about town.
A momentary date, about to see a flyover the capital.
***
Another date.
I liked the tile.
Can you guess where in SLC I took this pic?
(And how I had to be standing to take this pic?)
Also like the tile here.
***
Another date.
Holy Water FINALLY opened!
We were starting to think that it would do a Coffee & Tonic: (meaning never open).
Only a few months late.
He said that the venue needed sound dampening.
Too loud.
I said that the coffee was a bit weak.
And they have to figure out their ordering routine a little better.
It was their second day, so we'll probably go back after they've had some time.
*****
Meanwhile...
Back at home...
In her garden.
***
She let me be her stylist.
I aimed to create an asymmetric punky cut.
Gave it layers to have gravity-defying volume - even without product.
Fun times!
